Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 2026. These terms apply when you buy from Prestige Rug House or use this website. Please read them before placing an order. Questions? Contact us at info@prestigerughouse.co.uk.

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer. If anything here conflicts with UK consumer law, the law wins.

2. These Terms

By placing an order or using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

We may change these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the version published on this page at the moment you placed it.

3. Who Can Buy From Us

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a legally binding contract. We currently sell to and deliver within the United Kingdom only.

4. Our Rugs

Our rugs are woven from bamboo silk and cotton and are made in Turkey. Because they are woven rather than machine printed, small variations in colour, pile, and finish are normal and are part of the character of the product. They are not defects.

We photograph our rugs as accurately as we can, but screens vary. Colour on your monitor or phone may differ slightly from the rug in your home. If a rug is not what you expected, our returns policy covers you.

Sizes given on the site are approximate and subject to small manufacturing tolerances.

5. Prices and Payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling. Delivery is free within the United Kingdom, so the price you see is the price you pay.

We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct. If we discover an error in the price of a rug you have ordered, we will contact you before dispatch and give you the choice of continuing at the correct price or cancelling for a full refund. We will not simply charge you the higher amount.

Payment is taken at checkout through our payment provider. We do not store your card details.

6. How a Contract Is Formed

Placing an order is an offer to buy. Our order confirmation email acknowledges that we have received your order, but it does not create a contract.

A contract between you and us is formed only when we send you a dispatch confirmation. If we cannot fulfil your order, for example because a rug is out of stock, we will tell you and refund any payment in full.

We reserve the right to refuse or limit any order.

7. Delivery

Delivery is free to all UK addresses, including the Scottish Highlands and Northern Ireland. Orders are dispatched within one working day and delivered by FedEx. Full details are in our Delivery Policy.

Risk in the goods passes to you when the rug is delivered to the address you gave us. Until delivery, any loss or damage in transit is ours to resolve.

8. Returns and Cancellation

We offer a 30-day return window. You have 30 days from receiving your order to tell us you want to return it, and you do not need to give a reason. You then have a further 14 days to send the rug back.

This 30-day window is longer than the law requires. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order. Our window includes that right and extends it.

Returned rugs must be unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging, and must have a Returns Authorisation Number. You pay the cost of return postage for change-of-mind returns. Custom, bespoke, and made-to-order rugs cannot be returned once production has started, though this does not affect your rights if the item is faulty.

Full conditions are in our Returns & Refund Policy.

9. If Something Is Wrong With Your Rug

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose. If your rug is faulty, damaged on arrival, or not what you ordered, you are entitled to a refund, replacement, or repair, and we cover return postage.

Please tell us within 30 days of delivery, with photographs, at info@prestigerughouse.co.uk.

10. Using This Website

You may use this site for browsing and placing orders. You may not use it to do anything unlawful, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, introduce malicious code, or scrape or copy its content for commercial use.

We try to keep the site available at all times but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend, withdraw, or change any part of it without notice.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on this site, including photographs, text, design, and the Prestige Rug House name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. You may not reproduce or use it commercially without our written permission.

12. Our Liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for your statutory rights in relation to the goods.

Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the price you paid for the goods, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

We supply to consumers for domestic and private use. If you use a rug for any commercial purpose, we have no liability for loss of profit, loss of business, or business interruption.

13. Events Outside Our Control

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, carrier failure, industrial action, or supply disruption. If such an event occurs we will contact you and either agree a new delivery date or cancel and refund you in full.

14. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, email info@prestigerughouse.co.uk and we will acknowledge your complaint within one business day and work to resolve it. We would always rather hear from you directly than have you go elsewhere first.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
